The  and the American Anthropological Association issue annually a Fieldwork Opportunities Bulletin. It describes excavation opportunities around the world for students interested in learning archaeological techniques and participating in digs. Students interested in participating in an archaeological excavation of a classical site may apply to nearly 100 different programs in Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
