Retiree Ad Hoc Grant

In addition to Emeritus Faculty and Retiree Staff Development Grants, limited funds are available to support projects by ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College retirees on an ad hoc basis.  Like the Development Grants, ad hoc awards are intended to promote ongoing professional engagement, advance continuing education, encourage involvement with the College or the retiree's local community, and/or model other creative approaches to life in retirement.  Unlike the Development Grants, however, ad hoc awards may be applied for and approved at any time.  A retiree seeking funding for a project should consider, first, whether the needs might be met through an Emeritus Faculty or Retiree Staff Development Grant.

Requests for ad hoc funds may be made directly via email to RIPG@skidmore.edu, or referred to RIPG from the offices of the Dean of the Faculty or Human Resources.  There is no set application form.  A letter of request should:

  1. briefly describe the nature of the project;
  2. specify the time period when funds are needed;
  3. outline expenses; and
  4. explain the value of the project to the relevant trade or profession, to the College or retiree's local community, or to the community of retirees.

Reviewers appointed by RIPG recommend appropriate response to the request, which is ultimately determined by RIPG.  The grant recipient must submit a final report to RIPG after funds have been expended.
